Access and Intervention Centre
Contact UsThe Access and Intervention Centre provides multi-issue drug and alcohol users, who struggle to maintain commitments and who have minimal contact with other services, access to a range of drug treatment services, including harm reduction and minimisation.
The service is available without appointment, providing a vital point of connection for low threshold clients and for those who do not have phones. The focus for these non-appointment engagements is screening, referral, brief interventions, and on reducing the drug and alcohol related harms associated with this target group. The service also provides basic needs packages, and support for rough sleepers with substance use issues.
The Access and Intervention setting also enables the service to work on facilitating change for individuals, when they are more ready, better able, and more prepared. This is primarily done though key working/case management based on initial/comprehensive assessment goals. The Access and Intervention Centre also delivers interventions for specific targeted groups, (E.g. Contingency Management Crack Cocaine Specific Groups) as well as providing a pathway to Stabilisation Programmes.
The Access and Intervention setting operates an assertive linkage model, providing outreach and street work with service users, as well as collaboration with other providers within the community in this type of intervention.
The Access and Intervention setting provides a Crack Pipe Harm Reduction Service, along with other specific harm reduction supplies and information.
The Access and Intervention setting provides an in-reach service to the HSE Domville House Clinic.
